# Meeting minutes
## Attendees : P. Hamy, Y.-A. Ba, M. Caillat, N. Moreau, P. Salome
## New server
Description of the actual hardware
Datartemix 75TB
Datartemix2 92TB
1 SSD par machine (en fonction de cache)
- Romeo (RT730) RAM 128G 16 cores 32 threads
- Juliette (RT740) RAM 384G 16 cores 32 threads

[Devis1-QUOTEPLUS_FR_REL_PUBL_39353626_2021_09_27.pdf](uploads/259d11fdf91b2a9aeb6b17f32885c2fd/Devis1-QUOTEPLUS_FR_REL_PUBL_39353626_2021_09_27.pdf)
- New server (RT750) RAM 256G 16 cores 32 threads
###### Possible problem:
the RAM memory delivered seems not to match what was ordered (we asked for 384G). An email is sent to Tarik to check that
###### Schedule :
1) Check what has been delivered and if it matches well with what has been ordered (see above)
2) Install Debian OS. Note that this is not as on Juliette (which is on CentOS, but CentOS is no longer supported). This open the question of the possible need to change the OS on Juliette too. But the risk is with the data saving which will not be possible.
3) Create accounts.
4) Leave the data mounted on Juliette. Create a direct link between Juliette and the new server in order to mount the data.
5) List all required softwares to be install on Debian (test compatibility)
6) Do the git clone and test
7) Buy 10To (1SSD = 200e for 2To). So 1ke ? Ask DELL.
Keep it as a local machine, no supervision by the DIO
###### Question:
Need to add some local disks on the new machine (maybe only SSD), in order to work locally. Now, there is no space but for the system.
###### For later:
Think about a duplication of part of the data on the LYRICS disk space (tycho58).
###### Future of Romeo:
Keep it as it is until it crashes. Use it for jupyter and LERMA users. No longer use it for Artemix / Yafits.
Romeo could be used to test miroring of the service (pilot study for charge repartition).
###### Conclusions:
Start to keep using Juliette for the production server. Use the new server as the devel during 1 year (because Juliette has the disk in direct, it has the SSD for the cache, it has 384G RAM memory).
In a year from now, decide to switch or not the production server.
